Generic Levitra is a well-known PDE5 inhibitor drug designed to help men suffering from the embarrassing consequences and self-esteem crushing effects of erectile dysfunction. Generic Levitra is actually otherwise called vardenafil. In other countries like Italy and India, generic Levitra is known there as Vivanza and Staxyn, respectively.
Generic Levitra was marketed by 3 entities: Schering-Plough, Bayer Pharmaceuticals, and GlaxoSmithKline. It was in the year 2005 that the promotion rights of GlaxoSmithKline have been given back to Bayer in many medical establishments or pharmacies outside of the United States. In Italy, GlaxoSmithKline sells generic Levitra as Vivanza, whereas Bayer sells generic Levitra as Levitra.
The orally-dissolving form of generic Levitra, sold as Levitra Soft and Staxyn has been gaining positive reviews and approvals in countries such as Canada and the United States.
Generic Levitra comes in the form of circular, orange-colored, film-coated pills or tablets, with “BAYER” debossed on one side of the pill and the numbers 20, 10, 5 or 2.5 can be seen on the other side, representing the dosage of that particular generic Levitra pill.
The indications and contraindications of generic Levitra are actually nearly the same as that of other PDE5 inhibitor drugs. Generic Levitra somewhat closely resembles sildenafil citrate and tadalafil in terms of function. Aside from its main use as a treatment drug for erectile dysfunction, generic Levitra may be quite effective in treating premature ejaculation in men as well, since it has been found to significantly increase the duration of time starting from penetration to ejaculation.
If you have never taken generic Levitra before, the recommended starting dose for it is 10 mg. This dosage is somewhat equal to that of 50 mg of sildenafil citrate. Generic Levitra must be taken around 1 to 2 hours before engaging in sex, and one should never taken more than one tablet per day. In some areas of the world, such as that of the United Kingdom, only specific doses of generic Levitra may be available for sale in the market.
Keep in mind that generic Levitra, as well as other PDE5 inhibitors, must never be used by males who are taking nitrate medicines due to the fact that taking them all at the same time with generic Levitra may possibly cause life-threatening low blood pressure or hypotension.
Furthermore, generic Levitra can also cause the QT interval’s lengthening. Thus, those who are taking medicines like amiodarone that significantly affect the QT interval must not take the drug. Read more…
